Abigale Le Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Mills (born September 21 1965) was a American dance instructor, choreographer
and reality television host. Abby Lee Dance Company is her idea, and it ran for
eight seasons on Dance Moms. Miller admitted in June 2016 to the charge of
felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced for one and a half years in
federal prison. She was released on March 27, 2018. In April 2018, she was
diagnosed with lymphoma, which is a kind of cancer that renders it impossible
to walk. She is now using a wheelchair to move around. Miller was born in Penn
Hills, Pennsylvania. Her mom taught her dance at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio.
At the age of 14 years old, Miller was assigned the task for choreographing and
coaching one of her mother's dance competition teams. Miller was given the
reins of the studio and changed its name to Reign Dance Productions in 1995.
Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America in 1986. She was also made an
active member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 in February 2012. But
Miller's membership was terminated by DMA in February 2012 following the DMA
said that Miller's reality television show Dance Moms was "a complete
false representation of dance teachers and students and is harmful to the dance
industry."
